Good afternoon my lovelies!!! Today’s post will be a FUN ONE! A poll if you may will.. I know you’re a bit confused by the title and may be thinking “Aren’t all straight black men usually possess Natural Hair” and the answer would be “YES!” However, I mean it more along the lines as rocking locs, twist and braid outs, etc, you know how my homie Dwele rocks his hair! LOL! What do you guys prefer?? AAAANNNNNDDDDD GO!!!!!!!!
It’s been EXACTLY 1 week since I’ve straighten my hair for a length check…. I have worked out… And indulge in “OTHER” activities with my significant other.. ^_^ I usually sweat HEAVILY in my head… My hair is still straight.. I can’t WAIT to immerse my hair in water so that it can revert.. I’m praying it does… I’m a bit concerned because it’s still straight… Should I be lovelies???!
Hello my lovelies! As I get into the swing of this here blogging thing, I will try to come with new post DAILY instead of weekly! I really love sharing things with you about our hair, and the overall health of us as a whole. I’ve met ALOT of ppl who are clueless when it comes to the direction correlation of diet and hair health. Understand this… What you put into your body will have either a negative or positive impact on your hair.. Think of your body of as a temple, because it is just that. (Getting biblical, I’m not apologetic though) moving forward…. I myself drink a gallon of water per day and have been doing so for about 2 years now.. I sure to you all it is not that hard! Try to do this with lemon if the mere idea of water intake is just “BLAH” to you! LOL! SPICE THAT SHIT UP!! *does corny salsa dance* I’m the QUEEN of veering off subject.. BACK TO IT SHALL WE! I will not get into the science of it and etc etc.. Because quite frankly, that’s a bit boring, and this is not the tone of this here blog post! Time and place for everything. I drink this here smoothie daily, and I can honestly say for a lack of better wording.. *clears throat* my hair is STRONG AS HELL!! And I want to credit that to this here drink! Give it a try, you’ll see the difference in your nails as well.. Quick to make. I personally LOVE my Nutribullet and magic bullet. Whatever works! Eating better is a bit pricey, I know sad but true.. America is a tad bit FUCKED UP! But that’s another story I will not go into.. LOL! Our bodies need Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Water, Protein, Minerals and Vitamins to be properly replenished on a daily basis. Here is a smoothie you can try that will incorporate all of those essentials:
1 cup of almond milk (Provides Protein, Potassium & Zinc minerals)
1 Organic Banana (Provides Vitamin A, B, C, E & Iron minerals)
1 Handful of Spinach (Provides Fiber, Protein and Cancer-fighting Antioxidants)
1 Handful of Kale (Provides Vitamin A, C, K, & Sulfur for Detoxification)
1 Tablespoon of Flax Seeds or Chia Seeds (Provides Omega-3 Fatty Acids)
1 Organic Pear (Provides Calcium & Fiber)
½ Cup of Ice
DRINK UP!!! ENJOY!!! BE HEALTHY!! GROW HEALTHY HAIR!!! Be it ear length or waist! Remember LOVE YOURSELF and LIFE will be GREAT!!
I started to make a vid on youtube about this, but I am VERY new to that and I don’t have a video editor program yet.. HOWEVER! My girl Jouelzy on Youtube had my EXACT regime! Here it is ladies! This is how I maintain length retention. For my water and oil mixture I use JAMAICAN BLK castor oil and water. The conditioner I use is “The Mane Choice” I have a 4a/4b texture however it works the same for my hair and yours! Happy growing my lovelies! Any questions on products I use PLEASE FEEL FREE to comment or email me!
One of my fave channels to watch on Youtube.. My hair goal is to reach waist line. I’m currently at bottom of neck length it has taken me 10 months to do so from a 2 inch fade cut.. I’m forecasting this will probably take 3 to 4 yrs based upon my protective styles efficiency to protect and preserve my ends!!! You guys ready for this visual journey with me??
Hello all! As you may or may not know, I have big chopped my hair a total of 4 times in my lifetime as a natural, 7 years and counting! March of 2013 my hair was SEVERELY damaged due to me putting a “texturizer” in my head in attempts to making my curl looser. Boy oh boy! Silly of me, needless to say it all fell out w/in 3 months.. I BC’ed all but 2 inches of my hair, the least amount needed to grip for braids. The next 10 months I adorned my head with nothing but protective styles from senegalese twist to half wigs. I may have straighten my hair with a blow dryer twice on a low setting HEAVY heat protector, that’s IT for these past 10 months.. This past Saturday I decided to get my hair PROFESSIONALLY straighten, a ceramic flat iron silk (controlled heat) before I went to her I took down my protective style I had in for 2 weeks, I co-washed, detangled, and deep conditioned my hair.. I let it sit over night, slept in a plastic cap, and had my stylist wash it out about 14hrs later in efforts to prevent ANY TYPE OF HEAT DAMAGE! (Lawd I’m TERRIFIED of this) anywho here is the final result… I will also post the products I used..
These 2 products helped TREMENDOUSLY in prepping my hair for the heat. The flat iron was only passed through no more than twice! Thank GAWD!! The Mane Choice left my hair extremely soft after being in for 14 hours! LOL! I’m a fan of Carol’s Daughter’s just a bit pricey, but worth it.
Once this straight style has reverted back I will go another 10 months without heat, and only protective styling. I wanted to do a length check. I have retained 8 inches of growth in 10 months of very low manipulating of my hair! Leave it alone, and I promise you it will grow!!!
This video was EVERYTHING! I’m new to his channel, needless to say… I am now a subscriber! Afro texture hair is usually fine, it’s the most prone to break. But there is HOPE!! Please watch the video posted here!!!
