I have looked at my last post and noticed they were 7 days apart…. *GRASP* this life I live is HECTIC at times! Full time job, part time student in college, a part time job, the gym, AND a relationship?!!! By the grace of God I’m still functioning! LOL! However, when I started this blog back in December of 2013 I told myself, the sole purpose of this blog was to help naturals, transitioning, and relaxed ladies like myself. I have been through ALL 3 stages just now listed and let me tell you.. It’s a STRUGGLE for all 3! But I got through them all! Loving my natural coils, a big chop was the best thing I could have ever done! I remember when I did my 1st big chop at 10yrs of age I remember feeling so alone, because back then there was no Youtube, or anything else of the sort that could help me out with how to deal with my hair. LOL! Can you imagine being in elementary school with a LEGIT bald fade? Nah, I’m sure you can’t.. The perm I received (at home in my mom’s kitchen) DESTROYED my hair, there was no choice but to call it all off.. At 10?!! Lord, I will say this.. That period of 10-12 built hella character for me.. I got into my first fist fight because a peer of mine called me a “bull dyke” I did NOT know what the hell it was, I just knew I didn’t like the sound of it! So I tagged that ass! Lmao! Fast forward 17yrs later I have had at least 2 more relaxers put into my head when I said ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH!!! I could speak all day in regards to my journey with my hair and I. But I won’t I will KEEP BLOGGING despite my busy schedule because I want to help anyone I can embrace the hair God has given to him. I love to talk, and meet new people, so yes.. I’m here to stay! Hello Beautiful Natural, Transitioning, and Relaxed ladies!!! In this post I will go into detail about my every 2 week wash regime.
If I’m coming out of a protective style I first use a ACV (apple cider vinegar) rinse to get rid of potential product build up. I use 3 tbsp to 6 cups of water, I pour over my head and massage, the action of the massaging loosens up any product or dirt from scalp. Once this is done I let it sit for about 4 mins. Completely rinse out with cool water, then I proceed with the following steps.
I will say this. I only SHAMPOO my hair once a month, and when I do it I use Carol Daughters “Tui Moisturizing Shampoo” which contains NO Parabens, No Petroleum, No Mineral Oil, nor Artificial Colors. For an 8oz bottle I paid $13.00. It’s well worth it.
Every 2 weeks here is my routine.
I Pre-Poo with Carol Daughter’s “Hair Milk co-wash cleansing conditioner” retail price is $18.00. After I’m done with my pre-poo I rid of excess wetness with an over sized tee shirt. I then proceed with the LOC method.. For my oil I use EVOO or Coconut Oil, and my water based “cream” would be Carol’s Daughter “Hair Milk Leave In Moisturizing conditioner” or The Mane Choice “Hair Butter” I pay especially close attention to my ends, with that being the oldest of hair growth. The KEY to length retention is to make sure those ends are in tip top shape! Every 3 days or so If I’m wearing a protective styling I will “bag” up my ends.
My regime is pretty simple, at the current moment I am not gonna really let my hair go free in wash and goes because I’m trying to preserve as much length as possible! So for the next 6 months I will be rocking my half wigs! Underneath them will be 2 stands twist or braids. I hope this has helped you my loves! Anymore questions, please e-mail me, or comment below! Bare with me, I was at work! LOL! Okay, so I decided to upload a video from my phone to my Youtube page and this was the end result! LOL! I do not have fancy editing software, etc.. I simply did not feel like typing too much on my blog today, so I do what I do best… TALK! LOL! The oil mix that’s mentioned is simply a concoction I came up with that consists of peppermint oil, Jamaican Blk castor oil, and coconut oil. 🙂 I call it my “JuJu mix” don’t ask me why it’s named that! My head looks really huge on this damn video, but it is what it is.
In short… My hair was a bit TOO STRAIGHT, I need to find a method that allows the actual knots to stay, the fact they kept on unraveling was a bit frustrating, and I just said FUCK IT! (Excuse my french… Nah.. don’t excuse it..) It is now in a damn bun held together with bobby pins.. I’ll try again when I have my coils back! Until next time lovelies! It’s been EXACTLY 1 week since I’ve straighten my hair for a length check…. I have worked out… And indulge in “OTHER” activities with my significant other.. ^_^ I usually sweat HEAVILY in my head… My hair is still straight.. I can’t WAIT to immerse my hair in water so that it can revert.. I’m praying it does… I’m a bit concerned because it’s still straight… Should I be lovelies???!
Hello my lovelies! As I get into the swing of this here blogging thing, I will try to come with new post DAILY instead of weekly! I really love sharing things with you about our hair, and the overall health of us as a whole. I’ve met ALOT of ppl who are clueless when it comes to the direction correlation of diet and hair health. Understand this… What you put into your body will have either a negative or positive impact on your hair.. Think of your body of as a temple, because it is just that. (Getting biblical, I’m not apologetic though) moving forward…. I myself drink a gallon of water per day and have been doing so for about 2 years now.. I sure to you all it is not that hard! Try to do this with lemon if the mere idea of water intake is just “BLAH” to you! LOL! SPICE THAT SHIT UP!! *does corny salsa dance* I’m the QUEEN of veering off subject.. BACK TO IT SHALL WE! I will not get into the science of it and etc etc.. Because quite frankly, that’s a bit boring, and this is not the tone of this here blog post! Time and place for everything. I drink this here smoothie daily, and I can honestly say for a lack of better wording.. *clears throat* my hair is STRONG AS HELL!! And I want to credit that to this here drink! Give it a try, you’ll see the difference in your nails as well.. Quick to make. I personally LOVE my Nutribullet and magic bullet. Whatever works! Eating better is a bit pricey, I know sad but true.. America is a tad bit FUCKED UP! But that’s another story I will not go into.. LOL! Our bodies need Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Water, Protein, Minerals and Vitamins to be properly replenished on a daily basis. Here is a smoothie you can try that will incorporate all of those essentials:
1 cup of almond milk (Provides Protein, Potassium & Zinc minerals)
1 Organic Banana (Provides Vitamin A, B, C, E & Iron minerals)
1 Handful of Spinach (Provides Fiber, Protein and Cancer-fighting Antioxidants)
1 Handful of Kale (Provides Vitamin A, C, K, & Sulfur for Detoxification)
1 Tablespoon of Flax Seeds or Chia Seeds (Provides Omega-3 Fatty Acids)
1 Organic Pear (Provides Calcium & Fiber)
½ Cup of Ice

I started to make a vid on youtube about this, but I am VERY new to that and I don’t have a video editor program yet.. HOWEVER! My girl Jouelzy on Youtube had my EXACT regime! Here it is ladies! This is how I maintain length retention. For my water and oil mixture I use JAMAICAN BLK castor oil and water. The conditioner I use is “The Mane Choice” I have a 4a/4b texture however it works the same for my hair and yours! Happy growing my lovelies!
